To mark the release of The Gospel According to Water, Joe Henry and photographer Jacob Blickenstaff have partnered to offer a special limited edition of photographic prints of three images made at Largo at the Coronet Theater in Los Angeles on July 13, 2019. 

A word from Joe:

I began working with photographer Jacob Blickenstaff in 2014, at the release of my album “Invisible Hour;” and I felt an immediate connection between us, creatively: both of us angling after the visceral…the soulfully human; the humanely soulful.

Ahead of the release of my latest work, “The Gospel According To Water,” I invited Jacob to attend the soundcheck for a performance at the historic Largo-At-The-Coronet Theatre in Los Angeles; and what he captured speaks to something essential about my intentions, and as well bear witness to the collaborative spirit that passes unspoken between myself and my brethren of longstanding.

As such, Jacob and I worked together to pick three images from this July evening that we now now offer up for any who also find the witness salient and worthy of posterity.

I am grateful to Jacob for so deftly documenting what proved an important series of shows for me. And I am grateful to any here supporting this journey as I press on.

Each photograph is offered in a limited, numbered edition of 20 prints, signed by both Henry and Blickenstaff.
